• Frequently Asked Questions About Delaware Intercorp's Mail Forwarding Program

We have compiled a list of many of the frequently asked questions we receive regarding our business mail forwarding services. We hope that you will find this information helpful, and invite you to contact us with any additional questions that you may have which are not answered below.

    Business Mail Forwarding FAQ

    1. Will you forward mail if it is addressed to personal name instead of my company name?

Answer: Our office is a registered agent office wherein we represent an entity incorporated in the State of Delaware. The mail forwarding program is a service that our firm provides to your company. Therefore, we can only accept/forward mail to the exact company name and not to an individual.

    2. Do you accept/forward packages?

Answer: We can accept/forward a package on an individual, pre-approved basis. A pre-approval form can be obtained upon request and must be submitted at least ten business days before the receipt of the package at our office. Completion of a pre-approval form and receipt of a package at our office does not guarantee that it can be forwarded to you. Additional fees apply.

    3. If the mail forwarding is still active but my registered agent fee is overdue, will you still forward my mail?

Answer: The mail forwarding service is contingent upon the registered agent relationship we have with your entity. If your registered agent fee (RA Fee) is past due, we will hold your mail until the RA fee is paid. If annual RA Fee is 90 days past due, we will return all mail to the sender and will start the process to resign as your RA. Should we complete the resignation process, any balance on your mail forwarding account will be forfeited.

    4. Will you forward my mail if my company is using a DBA or a Fictitious Name?

Answer: We will accept/forward mail to a DBA or Fictitious Name only if you purchase a separate mail forwarding service for that DBA or Fictitious Name.

    5. If I have dissolved or canceled my company, am I able to continue my forwarding service?

Answer: As a courtesy, we will allow the Mail Forwarding program to continue for 30 days past the date of dissolution/cancellation provided that:

      a) You submit the request in writing (via email, fax or regular mail) indicating that you desire to extend the service.
      b) The RA fee is paid up to date. If it is due during the 30 day extension, then the RA fee will need to be paid in order to continue the mail forwarding service.
      c) Your mail forwarding plan is still in force or renewed.

    6. If my company becomes void, will mail forwarding service continue?

Answer: Once the company is declared void by the State of Delaware, any balance in your mail forwarding account is forfeited and all incoming mail will be returned to the sender.

    7. If a filing is made with the Division of Corporations and the name of my company is changed, will you forward my mail to the new company name?

Answer: We will forward mail to the official company name of record as recorded with the Delaware Division of Corporations. If your company name has changed due to an amendment or other filings, any mail that is addressed to a previous company name will no longer be accepted and will be returned to the sender.

Delaware Intercorp understands that circumstances can arise where you need to notify senders of your new company name. For those situations, we can offer to extend mail forwarding privileges to the previous company name for 30 days provided that you purchase a separate mail forwarding service for that name.

    8. Do you forward mail to the third party?

Answer: We will only forward mail to the address provided with your mail forwarding order, or as officially updated.

    9. I expected to have something sent to your office for my company, and I have not received it via mail forwarding yet. Where is my mail forwarding item?

Answer: Please note that Delaware Intercorp Inc. will ensure that all mail forwarding items received at our office are processed in a timely manner, and forwarded to your address of record. While we closely monitor and record what has been processed at our office; we are unable to monitor or track forwarded mail once it has left our office on its way to you via the postal service. Forwarding via regular USPS is included in your mail forwarding plan. If you are concerned about the ability to monitor or follow forwarded mail in route to your location, you may want to consider making arrangements to have your mail forwarded via courier (i.e. FedEx) for an additional fee.

    10. Are there any restrictions on mail items that can be forwarded?

Answer: We are unable to forward certain mail items that are designated as hazardous, prohibited, or that we suspect may be prohibited. Please contact us if you have a question about the ability to forward a specific item.
