Secretary of State

The pages of the Secretary of State provides some very useful information to those wishing to start a business in Ohio. Follow the link to “Business Services”, then to “Forming a Corporation” to find a comprehensive description of the details you need to address to file a corporation or foreign corporation with the Secretary’s Office.

Business Development

The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) is the business encouragement office of the State. Their stated mission is to: “to improve the quality of life for Ohioans” Some interesting information and reports await you on their pages.

Courts

Access judicial opinions and other information at the Ohio Supreme Court. The opinions are searchable and the site maintains an up to date press release section dealing with current cases before the Supreme Court.

Taxes

Read the Business Tax Guide, in PDF format, at the Ohio Department of Taxation to gain an understanding of your potential liabilities while conducting business in the Buckeye State. The sales and use tax section on the “Frequently Asked Questions” page is also helpful.

Legislation
